What happens if my subscription payment fails?Updated 9 days ago
Don't worry — a failed payment doesn't mean you've lost your subscription, and we won't bombard you with chasers. Here's exactly what happens.
1. We try again automatically
If your card is declined on renewal day, our system will automatically retry the payment a few times over the next several days. Most failed payments are temporary (bank flag, expired card, momentary balance issue) and clear themselves on retry.
2. We email you
You'll get an email letting you know the payment didn't go through, with a direct link to update your payment method.
3. Your subscription pauses
If retries don't succeed, your subscription will pause until payment is resolved — your next order won't ship, but your subscription stays active and ready to resume.
How to fix it
- Log in to your ELEAT account at eleatcereal.com/account.
- Go to Manage subscription.
- Tap Payment method and add a new card or update the existing one.
- Once the new card is saved, you can either wait for the next retry or trigger an immediate charge.
Common reasons payments fail
- Expired card.
- Bank flagged the transaction as suspicious (a quick call to your bank usually fixes this).
- Insufficient funds at the moment of charge.
- Card replaced and number changed.
